2025 Keynote Speaker: L. Jeffrey Perez, Ph.D.

L. Jeffrey Perez, Ph.D., joined the CHE as President and Executive Director in July 2024. Perez has 25 years of dynamic higher education leadership in three states, including 16 years in South Carolina.

Prior to the CHE, Perez served in several leadership roles: president and CEO of South Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities, Winthrop University’s vice president for university relations, The Citadel’s vice president for external affairs, Shawnee State University’s executive director for communications and government affairs, various leadership positions in the State University New York system, has chaired the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities – State Executives, and sat on NAICU’s Board of Directors.

To date, he currently serves on the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce’s Education and Workforce Development Committee and is a Furman University Riley Fellow.

Perez holds a Ph.D. in American history from the College of William and Mary. He earned a master’s degree from Binghamton University and a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service degree from Georgetown University.

The regular conference registration fee is $300 (annual membership is included free with registration). ​

Early Bird Registration includes a 10% discount! To qualify for the $270 registration fee, you must register by Friday, February 7th at 11:59pm. (*Use drop down box below to choose appropriate rate.*)

-For full-time graduate students, we are able to offer the special rate of $150.

-If you wish to be become/remain a member of SCAIR but cannot attend the conference this year, please visit the Membership section to of our web site. Annual memberships expire on March 31st of each year.

PayPal is the preferred method of payment for the SCAIR Conference and membership. Paypal will deliver your receipt to your email address. You will not receive a separate receipt from SCAIR.
